We were thrilled to premiere our most recent short film,
Waiting Patient, at the
Global Health Film Festivalin London. Director
Kelly Amis was also invited to present
Changing the Lens: Harnessing the Power of Digital & Social Media to Promote Social Justice.
Waiting Patient shows how a rural hospital in Haiti is expanding access to much needed surgical care. The film was sponsored by
GoPro and the UCSF Medical Center. Read more about GoPro's sponsorship
here.
You can also watch an interview with Kelly at the festival
here and a highlights reel
here. Stay tuned for information about future screenings in Boston, Glasgow and elsewhere!
Supporting Up-and-Coming Filmmakers
In 2018, we incorporated paid interns into our ongoing
feature film production in Oakland and into the production of this inspiring
short video for the
SEO Scholars of San Francisco. (They also help with social media!).
At the end of the year, we raised
$10K to continue our paid internships in 2019. Every dollar will go to our interns, who acquire professional and production skills while learning about social justice issues.
If you'd like to support this effort,
please donate to the Oakland Promise Projecthere or use
this form to donate by check.
All donations are
tax-deductible thanks to our fiscal sponsor, the
International Documentary Association.
Thank you to those who have already donated! We ♥ you!
