As a musician, have you ever been down on your luck? One of the benefits of being a union member is access to the Local 802 Musicians' Emergency Relief Fund, which helps those in need. But the fund needs all of our help to stay strong. Today, on #GivingTuesday, would you consider helping your fellow musicians in need? Click here to make a donation now. And if you're a musician who needs help, click here to learn more. As a union, we're stronger together...and we support each other. That's what being a musician is all about.
Spread the word! Year two of the Local 802 Emerging Artists Project is almost here, and applications will open on Dec. 1. The EAP is a four-year, $10,000-per-year grant program designed to encourage and mentor ensembles new to the music scene and the union. The project is open to all groups of three or more players in any genre of music who live or work in the New York tri-state area and who have been performing together for at least one year. Anyone interested in applying should click here between Dec. 1 and Dec. 31, 2018. Applicants' work will be adjudicated by respected members from all areas of the NY musical community. Grants will be awarded in early 2019. This year's winner will join the exciting Roxy Coss Quintet, our first EAP winner, as recipients of this award. Good luck to all!

The NYC Office of Nightlife is on a five-borough listening tour. All New Yorkers are invited to raise issues, voice concerns and share ideas. This is an important opportunity for musicians to share our concerns and experiences as nightlife workers to influence the decisions this office will make. The next date is Nov. 28.
