Favorite Camp Memory?
I have many awesome memories but my favorite memory is when we won the  championship game on the upper courts with Coach K in I believe 2009.

Did you learn anything at camp about your diabetes?  I learned so much from going to camp about my diabetes care. CHECK DON'T GUESS is my life motto now! I also learned a lot about insulin pumps and how to manage and work around complications involving these devices, especially while working on medical staff.

Do you stay in touch with anyone you
met through camp?
I do stay in contact with people. As a type 1 diabetic, it's easy to feel isolated
after camp. Do not let these relationships slip through the cracks! Even if it's not
frequent, it so important to have a diabetic community surrounding you with
support and encouragement on those tough days. Take the time to call a friend
from camp or send them a text.

What is your advice for present or future campers?
Make as many friends as possible! These relationships are invaluable! Listen to
the doctors, nurses, and medical techs in regards to diabetes care and advice. It
can be easy to look at diabetes lightheartedly, but it is a serious condition that
can have serious consequences if not managed properly. Lastly, have fun and
make memories that will last a lifetime!

Where are you now?!
Since camper days there has been a lot that has happened. I graduated from
Seattle Pacific University's nursing school in 2016 and have been working as an
acute care renal/diabetic nurse for about two and a half years now. I teach my
patients many concepts and ideas that were taught to me at camp. I am
currently working at Banner Desert in Mesa, Arizona. I met my wife Kaitlin in line
at Starbucks on a Sunday in 2016 before driving out to Dudley camp for the
week. The Dudley camp family were the first people to hear about her! We are
as close to perfect as possible for each other and were married 8 months later.
We recently had our first child, Milo, on October 1 st , 2018.
Please feel free to reach out to me or ask any diabetes questions, my email is
