Please be advised that the Cardinal Carter Library front entrance will be  be closed starting Tuesday, February 19 for repairs. We ask that you use the King Student Life Centre entrance until repairs are complete by March 5.

Optioned graphic novel has King's connection - The rights to "A Gardener In the Wasteland: Jotiba Phule's Fight for Liberty," a graphic novel written by Dr. Vidya Natarajan, King's Writing Program Coordinator, have been optioned by Bombay Berlin Film Productions which is setting it up as an international film or high-end TV series.

King's passes referendum on student refugee program fee - The Western Gazette reports that a King's University College referendum to fund the Student Refugee Program through a $5 student fee passed with 85 per cent student approval.

Man Made Program

In collaboration with Student Experience at Western University, the Man|Made Program, facilitated by ANOVA (formerly Sexual Assault Centre London), is currently being offered twice every academic year. Man|Made is an exciting four-session discussion group program designed for men to help them find their voice and use it to create change for themselves and their community.

Program begins on February 26.
Life After King's: Religious Studies

Alumni from Religious Studies will be here to speak about what you can do with a Religious Studies degree. There will be a question and answer period afterwards.

The entire King's community is invited to come out and meet our Peer Learning Coaches and learn more about the services and supports available through this peer-to-peer coaching and mentoring initiative that facilitates students' skill development and confidence in utilizing learning skills and everyday educational technology.

The Threat of Growing Populism: Possibilities for Social Justice

This will be a two-hour panel featuring three speakers with refreshments to follow. It is hosted by the Centre for Social Concern at King's.
Conversation will pertain to how to engage with or combat the growing trends of populism.

Creativity, Food, and Entrepreneurship

A panel discussion featuring Andrew Fleet of Growing Chefs! Ontario and Jill Wilcox of Jill's Table, two local businesses that share a love of good food and a creative approach to business. This is the first of two Centre for Creativity events on the topic of food and creativity. We hope you can join us!

Veritas Series with Dr. Murray Watson

Although Catholicism has a very long history of interacting with both Judaism and Islam, much of that history has been negative, tense and confrontational. This talk will provide a glimpse into some of the many good news stories and some of the struggles that challenge us to come to know each other better, and to interact respectfully, and thoughtfully, as partners and, increasingly, as friends.

Campuses Connected: Call for Proposals

Campuses Connected brings together faculty and staff interested in the scholarship of teaching and learning at Huron, Brescia, and King's University Colleges. We invite session proposals from any faculty or staff member working on a teaching and learning project. Students are welcome to present alongside faculty and staff.

MEM Insider Editor Position

T he MEM Insider is looking for a few students interested in learning editing skills! Eight  hours will be required in March or April and this volunteer opportunity will be included in your extra curricular record. Don't worry about your skill level; you will be supervised by an experienced editor.

Hannover International Summer School of Economics and Management

Study abroad in Germany from June 7 - July 15, 2019. HISSEMA offers lectures in International Management & Business Administration with topics such as the German economy, its integration into the European Union and the World Economy.

King's Undergraduate Research Conference: Call for Papers

The KURC Team is excited to invite students to present their research at the 2nd annual King's Undergraduate Research Conference on March 30, 2019. Students are encouraged to present research via an oral presentation or a poster presentation. This is a great opportunity for students looking at graduate or professional degree programs. 

Deadline to submit an abstract is March 3.
Positions available for King's Undergraduate Research Conference

Applications are now open for the position of the Undergraduate Research Coordinator and the Chair of the Undergraduate Research Conference for the 2019-2020 academic year. These positions work closely with the Academic Dean's Office to produce both Undergraduate Research Week and the King's Undergraduate Research Conference. We strongly encourage all students to apply.

Summer Work Study Positions Available

The Summer Work Study Program is designed to give OSAP students the opportunity to work full time at King's University College between academic years, while gaining valuable work experience.

Deadline to apply is March 8.
Western Green Awards

The nomination period for the 2019 Western Green Awards (WGA) is open! Nominate individuals or small groups that have recently created or supported activities with positive environmental outcomes. Your nominee(s) could be selected and receive one of three grand prizes of $1000. All staff, faculty members, and students of Western University or the affiliate colleges are eligible.

Deadline for nominations is March 8.
Open House: March 9

Going home for reading week? Tell your high school-aged family and friends about the upcoming Open House at King's. Admissions Officers will explain the application process, and representatives from our student support departments will also be available for consultation.

Complete your ITR

In less than the 3 minutes, completing your ITR guarantees you a spot for the Fall 2019 term. All returning students must complete this form.  If you have any questions, please   submit them to the Academic Dean's Office. Stop by the Library Circulation Desk, Enrolment Services or the Academic Dean's Office to fill out a ballot for a chance to win prizes! 

Deadline to complete your ITR is March 30.
