$220M pipeline announced

WBI Energy is proposing the North Bakken Expansion Project--a 67 mile, 20 inch-diameter pipeline to provide more natural gas connectivity from Williams and McKenzie Counties to the national market. This expanded capacity would provide an alternative to flaring. The project's cost is estimated at $220 million, and is projected to be operational in late 2021. Its capacity is designed to transport 200 million cubic feet per day of natural gas and could be expanded to 375 million cubic feet per day if conditions warranted. February economy at a glance released

The latest economic data is available in the economy at a glance. Some data of note:

--McKenzie County oil production topped 16.5 million barrels, this is second only to Oct 2018 when county production topped 17.1 million barrels.

--Dec 2018 labor force for McKenzie County is about 50 more than in Dec 2017; but labor force for North Dakota over the same time period has decreased about 10,000.
Multi-industry job fair

Continential Resources, Edman Builders, McKenzie County, the US Army are among the employers who have already registered to participate in the NW North Dakota Semi-Annual Job Fair. The fair will be held on March 27, 2019 at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City. It runs from 3-7pm, with veterans preference from 3-3:30pm.

Museum to host 3rd annual Hygge event

Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) is a Danish word that me ans creating a warm atmosphere and enjoying the good things in life with good people. Our local Pioneer Museum staff will be looking to capture the feeling of that word on February 23 from 5-9pm at the Pioneer Museum. At 5:30 there will be a panel of locals who discuss the book Called to the Prairie. At 7:00 p.m. Mike Kopp will speak regarding his work regarding Beautiful Badlands. Come for warm food, drink & conversation. There is no cost to participate.
Local entrepreneur to present at 1 Million Cups Fargo

Mineral Tracker, a minerals management software company founded by local individuals will be featured at 1 Million Cups Fargo on March 20.

Coffee with our legislators

Packing meals for those in need

Last year over 500 area volunteers came out to pack over 100,000 meals for people in need through the Feed my Starving Children event. They will be at it again this year on March 15-16 at the Rough Rider Center. Click here for more info on how to volunteer or financially support here.
Rodeo coming to indoor arena

Cowgirls and cowboys will once again be descending on the McKenzie County Fairgrounds indoor arena.

The 2nd Annual Bares, Broncs and Bulldoggin will be coming to the there at 7pm on March 23.
