If there is no struggle, there is no progress. -Frederick Douglass
Courage and Hope

History has shown us that courage can be  contagious and hope can take on a life of its own. -Michelle Obama

One of the joys of engaging in covenanted community, is the opportunity keep on growing together, or as it is stated in our principles,  "a cceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregations."

When I open myself to learing about white supremacy culture I am  accepting a level of trust and keeping myself from being walled off from the world. I love learning about the history of our nation,  even the parts that feel difficult. The current conversations around the use of  blackface help me understand, and make way for hope taking a life of its own.

What can I learn in the waning days of this month? How might I find hope?
