HLA URGES
SENATE TO PASS BORN-ALIVE ABORTION SURVIVORS PROTECTION ACT
Human Life Action (HLA), the pro-life advocacy voice of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), is urging individuals to contact their U.S. Senators in support of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act (S. 311,
Sen. Ben Sasse, R-NE). This bill requires that a child who is born alive, following an attempted abortion by a health care practitioner, be given the same degree of care to preserve his or her life and health as would be given to any other newborn. After giving such care, the practitioner must ensure that the child is immediately transported and admitted to a hospital.
