Chairman's Message
Dear Radnor Republicans and Friends:
While the political landscape in Washington continues to be contentious, we should be clear that
what happens in Washington has little impact on policy decisions in our township
that affect our daily lives and quality of life. In Radnor and Delaware County in 2019, we have exclusively
local issues
on the ballot in November, and we need to focus on good local governance.
Radnor Township Board of Commissioners
In Radnor Township, four township commissioner positions are up for election, in the 1
st
, 3
rd
, 5
th
and 7
th
Wards. On our Board of Commissioners, three of these positions are represented by Democrat incumbents and one by a Republican incumbent (Luke Clark in the 3
rd
Ward). If the Republicans are able to win two of the four races, we will have a majority on the Board of Commissioners for essentially the first time in eight years.
In December, the Democrat-led Board of Commissioners voted to increase property taxes by 6.5%, with a warning that this was not enough to satisfy all of their spending needs and obligations. If the Democrats maintain a majority, we can expect taxes to go up even further. Even with the significant property tax increases and millions of dollars of “storm water fees” collected, storm water issues continue to plague portions of our township while these funds sit idle in the township coffers.
Radnor Township School Board
Five of the nine School Board director positions are up for election in 2019, with four of them held by incumbent Republicans. Our excellent public schools are an incredible attraction to our township, and their continued excellence will positively affect all of us. Regaining a Republican majority on our school board is an important goal for 2019. To do so, we must win all five seats.
County Positions
At the county level, there will be three county council positions, four Court of Common Pleas judgeships, and the County District Attorney up for election.
Radnor residents and Republicans
Katayoun “Kat” Copeland
and
Steve Gerber
have announced their intentions to seek the District Attorney and Court of Common Pleas positions, respectively. Both have served our community admirably for many years and are deserving of your support.
Seeking Candidates
I am confident that a Republican-led board of commissioners and School Board will restore good governance to our township and will provide better stewardship of public resources.
We are still seeking additional candidates for our Commissioner and School Board positions.
If you have interest or can suggest someone else that might be a good candidate or would like additional information about these positions, please contact us at
info@RadnorGOP.org
.
If you are interested in the School Board Director or Commissioner Positions, we would need a letter of interest submitted not later than February 10, 2019 to
info@RadnorGOP.org
.
In 2019, I look forward to working with the entire community in Radnor to implement good governance programs and policies that improve our quality of life.

:
Villanova Stadium Lighting
“Villanova is not a victim, but Mr. Farhy seems content to abandon candor, reason and pragmatism in exchange for sensationalism and demagoguery [rather than working to solve the lighting problem].”
Ward 7 resident Timothy Frey has written an excellent letter that was published in the Main Line Suburban titled "
Radnor Township needs to negotiate in good faith with Villanova
." In his letter, Mr. Frey proposes a more rational way than that being employed by current Ward 7 Democrat Commissioner Sean Farhy to handle the current controversy regarding the university's use of its stadium lighting

Former Radnor Commissioner Philip Ahr expected to plead guilty
Recently, the Democrats tweeted a message calling Trump evil for his extra-marital relationships. Yet Phil Ahr represents true evil—he supported the abuse of children—and the Democrats on the Radnor Board of Commissioners would not ask him to resign after his vile behavior was uncovered.

Democratic Senate colleague calls for State Sen. Daylin Leach’s expulsion
Democratic State Sen. Daylin Leach, who has faced calls to resign over allegations of sexual misconduct, now has a colleague from his own county pushing to expel him from office.
Newly elected Sen. Katie Muth (D., Montgomery) on Wednesday circulated a letter to members of the Senate Ethics Committee asking for Leach’s expulsion, contending that he has used his office to intimidate women who have accused him of sexual harassment or assault.
Leach wrote an angry email to the head of the Montgomery County Democratic Party calling Muth “a dreadful person” and “a toxic hand grenade.”

Providing Perspective
"Some have suggested a barrier is immoral. Then why do wealthy politicians build walls, fences and gates around their homes?
They don't build walls because they hate the people on the outside, but because they love the people on the inside.
The only thing that is immoral is for the politicians to do nothing and continue to allow more innocent people to be so horribly victimized."

Example of Liberal Media Bias
This is an example of what we are fighting: a distortion of the facts by the New York Times and the liberal media to conceal the successes of current policies. People are being buffaloed into believing that U.S. jobs growth is something less than outstanding.

Opinion | The Downside of Anti-Trump Rage
The strategy of “resistance” to Pres. Trump has been a disaster for Democrats. They’ve denied Mr. Trump the money for a wall on the border with Mexico but lost ground on just about everything else—notably on taxes, health care and the environment.
