Small Business Spotlight
Crafty Bastards Restaurant & Pub
If you ask Betty Brunson, owner of Crafty Bastards, how the pub came to be she'll tell you it started with a very crafty idea. "Open a pub!" they said. "It will be fun!" they said. That was an understatement!

"When we opened our pub, Crafty Bastards, in 2015, people often asked us, 'What made you retire to do this.'  Our answer was simple: It's what we've always wanted to do! We felt the northwest area of Gainesville needed a local, convenient, quality craft beer pub that included a small selection of fresh, made to order food to complement the beverages."

Three years later, Crafty Bastards is known as a full-service restaurant and pub that provides a family-friendly and fun environment. Visit Crafty Bastards to learn more about this partner.
The JAG Agency
The JAG Agency is a full service marketing and advertising agency dedicated to helping businesses effectively create a brand identity and to identify and properly communicate with their intended audiences.

Owner, Tricia Garzon, has been volunteering and supporting the community since she was in elementary school.

"Over the years I have actively participated in more activities than I can count. Today as a business owner, while I continue to contribute as a volunteer to as many as I can, I know how much these organizations need funds to do the amazing work they do. The United Way Small Business Program allows smaller businesses like mine to make a much bigger impact by leveraging our contributions with matching grants. It's beyond gratifying and rewarding to know that these funds are helping people right here in our community, our friends and neighbors."

Impact Partner Spotlight
Child Advocacy Center, Inc.
The Child Advocacy Center (CAC) in Gainesville provides a child-friendly, safe and supportive environment for abused and neglected children. The Center is a place where professionals - social workers, counselors, law enforcement officers, state attorneys, victim advocates, medical professionals and others - work as a team to coordinate investigations and interventions for child abuse, neglect and sex trafficking cases.

United Way's Community Investment Fund currently supports the Reducing Trauma to Abused Children - Therapy and Forensic Interview programs at the CAC. The therapy program provides individual and family therapy to assist both primary (children) and secondary (siblings and/or parent) victims in healing from the trauma they've experienced. The forensic interview program provides a safe, neutral, child-friendly setting for the multidisciplinary team investigation of child abuse cases.

Your support of the Community Investment Fund ensures the CAC is available for free to children 24/7.
