Service disruptions for Lakeside Park
Construction to rehabilitate the Port Dalhousie piers will lead to some service disruptions at Lakeside Park, including limited parking, from now until work is completed.
Crews will use a section of the
Lakeside Park parking lot that's closest to the west pier to store materials and equipment. During the offseason, parking will be limited to about half of the Lakeside Park parking lot. Efforts will be made to maximize the amount of parking available in the area when Lakeside Park is open for the season.
Accessible parking will always be available and the service disruptions will not restrict access to the parking lot; visitors will still be able to enter and exit via Lakeport Road and Main Street.
Free parking is available at the Lakeside Park parking lot and other City parking areas within walking distance of Lakeside Park. Visitors can also park at
Ontario Jaycee Gardens Park, 543 Ontario St., and access
Rennie Park and Lakeside Park via the pedestrian bridge.
Lakeside Park visitors can also use St. Catharines Transit. The weekday 301 and evening and weekend 401 buses stop at Lock Street and Main Street, which is just a short walk from Lakeside Park. This route operates on a 30-minute frequency up until about 6 p.m. and then once an hour after that.

A report from Mayor Walter Sendzik
This week, City Council approved the 2019 Capital Budget with $31.3 million of investments in City streets, sidewalks, parks and neighbourhoods across St. Catharines.
The capital budget touches all corners of the city with upgrades to infrastructure that will help us on our path to be one of the most innovative, dynamic, livable and sustainable cities. Read more about the City's 2019 Capital Budget here.
Winter has arrived and I'd like to thank the roads crews who are keeping our streets cleared and safe. To our residents, please remember to clear your sidewalks and keep cars off the road when S'No Parking is in effect. This helps the snow plows get through and clear the roads as quickly as possible. Download the City's free Pingstreet app from your device's app store for regular updates about road conditions and closures.
Please join me at the Mayor's Toque Tuesday Pancake Breakfast next Tuesday. For $15 you can have a delicious breakfast and a great toque in support of Community Care at Market Square.
