LASP sends a big thank you to three impressive interns. We will miss them as they head back to school.
Barret Claunch, a rising 2L at Rutgers-Camden School of Law, interned at LASP for 6 months, working on assignments related to removing barriers to employment, primarily expunging criminal records and drafting name change petitions.
"At LASP I developed skills in client interaction, courtroom procedure, case management, presentations and legal writing. But the best part of my experience was interacting with clients, seeing their gratitude firsthand, and knowing that we made a difference in their lives. I went home every day feeling that I made a positive impact on someone's life, and this is exactly the reason I am pursuing a career in public interest law," said Mr. Claunch.
Zane Johnson, a rising 3L at Temple University's Beasley School of Law, spent busy days working on research assignments related to bankruptcy, drafting court documents related to mortgage foreclosure, and conducting client intake during his two months at LASP.
"Working at LASP exposed me to the wide range of legal issues facing those who are economically disadvantaged. I've realized the importance of organizations that provide free legal services, which has strengthened my resolve to advocate on behalf of those who can't afford to pay for a lawyer themselves," said Mr. Johnson.

Kevin Prucino, a rising 3L at the Pennsylvania State Dickinson School of Law, worked on projects in a multitude of civil legal aid areas including Family Law, Housing, Bankruptcy, Public Benefits and Elder Law during his summer at LASP's Delaware County office.
"I will take away many things from my experience at LASP, but most importantly an appreciation and respect for the hard work the staff at this office does every day, the satisfaction from helping those who are in need, and the incredible amount of experience, teaching, and advice provided to me by my coworkers," said Mr. Prucino.
