FEATURED EVENT: Play Smart Heart Screenings at Century
As part of their senior project in the Health Science career pathway, Century High School Students Kayla Rueber, Nayra Arriaga, Giana Quitugua, Justyn Herzog, and Jeremiah Quinteros, worked with District nurse Nancy Hawk and the Providence Heart Institute to bring Providence's Play Smart™ youth heart screenings to Century on Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 12 and 13. Many of their classmates took advantage of the opportunity to be screened for possible heart abnormalities and raise their awareness about how to prevent heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest. Free screenings are available by appointment at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, 503-216-6800, and at outreach events around the region, like the one that took place at Century. See their website for details.
