Principal's Message
Greetings,

We were very happy to finally have our Catholic Schools Week Mass on Wednesday.  What a wonderful Mass it was as we recognized Steve and Pam Fink and their family and their contributions in so many ways to Loyola. We will be honoring the Joe Frederick, Sr. family at a later Mass. We recognized our birthdays for the months of February and August and with that came another moment to honor and embrace the memory of Sister Mary Beth Schraml. We also took the time to thank Dan McCarger for his time at Loyola. Dan's last day at Loyola is today.

In addition to Dan, we are very sad to announce Bridget Prehn, high school Spanish teacher's last day is today. She will be focusing her time on her growing family.  We thank Bridget for her years here at Loyola as an employee and all that she has added to our Spanish program.

We are working on a replacement for Bridget and will provide more updates as we have them. Mr. John Janc will be helping in Spanish all next week. Mr. Janc has been a regular sub at our school and has often subbed in our foreign language classrooms.

We had hoped to share several important things with you at the State of the School Address, including enrollment information and the process for next school year.  We have heard a lot of feedback supporting a move to present our State of the School Report in a video in lieu of many events having to be rescheduled and a lack of time to fit it in so we are working on a release date for that video.

Speaking of the weather, as of right now there have not been any days added back into our calendar. However, discussions are ongoing about what do in case more severe weather cuts into our calendar. We will also monitor what ISD 77 does but have not heard anything definitive at this point. One thing to keep in mind when we are taking into account school closings is we have a number of student drivers who are coming in from the outskirts or outside of Mankato. Safety of all of our students and families is at the forefront of these decisions.

Have a wonderful weekend!
Adam Bemmels
