Receptive Sales Mission a Success
Ascendant interest

Travel South continues to spread the word about our eclectic and varied Southern destinations. Last month, we journeyed west for the Los Angeles and Las Vegas Receptive Tour Operator Sales Mission. With our state partners in tow, we conducted operator sales training at American Tours International and Bonotel Exclusive Travel. TSUSA also hosted a luncheon and video sales presentation highlighting travel options in each of our 12 states for more than 20 Chinese operators.

State partners also held a one-hour B2B session for one-on-one meetings with the operators; all these operators Travel South met with were excited about all areas of the south and want to work to help generate more exposure and booking.

Authentic Southern Destinations
Tune Towns

Over the next several months on social media and in this newsletter, Travel South will be highlighting several destinations that received exposure by being a part of Domestic Showcase's Journalist Program.  We will be sh aring accounts of destinations that meet and talk with the travel media while at Showcase. The overarching message we receive from our destinations is that the TSUSA Journalist program bring added-value and helps to bring attention to some of our Southern destinations. Be on the lookout for these spotlight items in our "Feature Friday" on our social media channels.

Pennsylvania-based travel writer Jill Gleeson attended Domestic Showcase in Branson, Mo., this year and delivered a fantastic article that highlighted the music scene of Mississippi, Tennessee and Alabama. This five-page article in AAA Alabama Journey magazine stopped in Clarksdale, Miss., Muscle Shoals, Ala., Memphis and Nashville. "Tune Towns: Sights and sounds along the Americana Music Triangle" garnered 547,500 media impressions with an estimated ad value of $100,950.
