The Georgia House of Representatives’ Page Program

This is an opportunity offering Georgia’s students between 12 and 18 years of age and older to visit the State Capitol and serve with the members of the House of Representatives. This program has become an essential part of the services provided to both the legislators and the public. For over 50 years, the experience of a legislative page has sparked many political aspirations and has been a connective link between elected leaders and Georgia’s young students.

How to apply:

Complete the Page Interest Form  and email or fax it to your Representative’s Administrative Assistant

After your interest form has been reviewed and approved by House Page Staff, you will be contacted by your Representative’s Administrative Assistant confirming which date has been selected for you to page.

Message From
Rep. Roger Bruce
Well the Super Bowl has come and gone and now the money is being counted. Millions of dollars well spent this weekend at hotels, restaurants, airport, rental car companies, etc
The question is how much did taxpayers pay for all of this and what is the return on that investment. How will the taxpayers recognize how that return is being applied to their everyday lives.

Not sure I understood the message being sent by having three civil rights champions center field for the coin toss while others were protesting performing at halftime due to the NFL policies related to players' freedom of speech.

Lastly, please watch for the Democratic response to the State of the Union Address. Stacey Abrams, former Democratic Candidate for Governor will be doing the response.

Voting Machines Public Hearing
This past Wednesday, I had the privilege of hosting a public hearing in room 410 of the Coverdell Legislative Office Building to discuss voting machine security and options, with other State Legislators. I would especially like to thank Sara Tindall Ghazal and Sarah Riggs Amico who offered a wealth of information to those in attendance.

The hearing was a great first step in a journey towards a more equal Georgia voting system. Jim Galloway of the Atlanta Journal Consitution had this to say about the meeting:

"The Democratic meeting in Room 415, chaired by state Rep. Roger Bruce of Atlanta, may have been the most successful running of a GOP information blockade at the state Capitol in 14 years. Unauthorized facts abounded."
