Americollect

Americollect has been a generous Progress Lakeshore sponsor since 2007!

Americollect partners with healthcare systems nationwide. We operate two divisions: one serving as a hospital's customer service team, and the other as a healthcare collection agency. Our team provides a better patient experience by being Ridiculously Nice.

We are excited to announce that new this year, Americollect will be partnering with the Department of Workforce Development's Youth Apprenticeship Program. The apprenticeship program works with local high schools and provides "intern" type opportunities for juniors and seniors that are looking to gain professional experience in certain fields. This year Americollect is looking to secure apprentices in the following areas: Marketing/Communications, Professional Sales, and Information Technology.

Strand Adventures gains a $365,000 revolving loan to help with their funding!


Last week, we celebrated the closing of a $365,000 revolving loan to  Strand Adventures from the City of Manitowoc Community Development Authority! Progress Lakeshore has worked on achieving this revolving loan fund with Strand Adventures members for the past 12 months and are excited to be a part of this project!
This $1.2 million project will convert the historic Strand Theatre in downtown Manitowoc into a multi-zone family activity & recreation center. The project funding  also includes a loan from Bank First.

Four state-based healthcare systems will discuss technology and innovation needs that could be met by emerging companies during a "reverse pitch" at the March 18 Wisconsin Tech Summit at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Executives from Aurora Healthcare, Froedtert Hospital, Marshfield Clinic Health System and UW Health will talk about their innovation portfolios during a session following lunch in the Lambeau Atrium. The session is produced by the Wisconsin Healthcare Business Forum and sponsored by Concordia University.
The healthcare "reverse pitch" is a new element at the sixth annual Tech Summit, which will also feature a series of 15-minute meetings between emerging companies and major firms.
Emerging companies may apply through Feb. 20 to be eligible for possible "speed dates" with the major firms. More information, including an application form, can be found at wistechsummit.com. Repeat emerging companies are welcome to apply.

Get nationally recognized for your business' efforts to hire and retain veterans!

The Department of Labor is actively seeking applications for its HIRE Vets Medallion Award. This award is given to employers who hire and retain veterans, including their efforts to establish employee development programs and veteran specific benefits to improve retention. Recipients of the award will be able to use the recognition when marketing their firm as a veteran friendly business during hiring, and in efforts to attract additional business.

Free Small Business
Counseling Available

Once a month, Progress Lakeshore hosts a counselor with the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center (SBDC) out of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay to provide counseling and advice to Manitowoc County area entrepreneurs and existing business owners.  These free meetings can help business owners and would-be business owners answer questions questions about how to start a business and take a business to the next stage.

To schedule an appointment with an SBDC  counselor, contact Progress Lakeshore at 920.482.0540. Appointments are now being scheduled for Thursday, February 28, 2019 and Thursday, March 28, 2019.
