OFFICE HOURS
7:00-3:00 p.m.

Pay School Fees Day

Our pay school fees day has been set for Monday, August 17th.   This will be done virtually this year through our Infinite Campus Parent Portal using a credit card.   There is a nominal fee to pay online by credit card.  The online portal to pay fees will open no later than 9:00 a.m. on Monday, August 17th.

For those that are unable to do this virtually, we are offering two time frames (9:00-12 noon & 1:00-3:00) where only ONE person per family can come into the building and pay fees.

This is a scaled back approach where you will only pay fees on August 17th and then receive your schedule electronically via Infinite Campus Parent Portal beginning the following day, Tuesday, August 18th. We are unable to open the building for students to walk around at this time.

In-Person Pay Fee Hours:
9:00-12:00 noon
1:00-3:00 p.m.

The average cost of school fees for each student is $118.  It could be more based on the courses your student has selected.

Common fee items include (but not limited to):
General Fee:  $55 (includes Technology)
Textbook Rental Fee:  $8 per class
Workbook Fee:  $10
Parking:  $15
Science Lab and Art Fee:  $15
Athletics Fee:  $35
Choir Fee:  $15

If you do not have your Infinite Campus Parent Portal activated, please call our main office (859-384-5040).  This will provide access to your students grades, attendance and more.

Camp Jag-Freshman

Camp Jag will take place VIRTUALLY on the morning of Friday, August 21st.  An orientation video for freshmen to watch prior to a Google Meet with their fourth period class will be available on August 19th.

During the Google Meet, you will be introduced to your FMPs (Freshmen mentors), receive more information about how to be a successful high school student during NTI among other important details about RCHS.

Mr. Wilson will send an email blast to all freshmen families on Wednesday, August 19th with a link to the orientation video and Google meet times for Friday.

If you have any questions, please contact our FMP directors Ms. Hayley Dant or Mr. Steven Vockell or our main office at 859-384-5040.

Laptop/Chromebook Distibution

For any student that is in need of a chromebook to use this school year, we will have them available for check out/pick up on Monday, August 24th from 9-12 and 2-5 p.m.

The check out/pickup will occur in our bus loop, curbside.  We do ask that masks are worn and that you remain in your car during this event.

To expedite this process, if you can have the user agreement filled out and signed to give to us when you pick up the chromebook will make the process that much faster.  If not, we will have forms available for you to fill out and sign.   To download the agreement form, see the link below.

Learning & Relearning
(Remediation Plan)

At Cooper we value learning and understand that sometimes students do not learn at the same pace.  We also know that many students need to develop better habits such as completing and turning in work on time, doing homework, spending time outside of class studying, and not falling behind in classes.  To help improve learning and school habits, Cooper is adopting the following in all classes as it relates to learning, meeting deadlines, and reassessing:

  • Students must turn in all assignments before the initial unit assessment (or completion of a unit) in order to receive a score for those Assignments.
  • Students who have not reached mastery on an assessment (less than 90%) may retake that assessment to replace the grade if they made a valid first attempt.
  • In order to retake an assessment, students must complete relearning before retaking the assessment.  This relearning is approved by the teacher but will not directly affect the course grade.  Relearning may include one or more of the following:  attending tutoring, completion of all relevant assignments, completion of additional work, test corrections, completion of an online module, etc.
  • The deadline for completing a reassessment is determined by each content area department but at least 10 days after the initial assessment.

Progress reports will be sent home with students approximately every three weeks.    The grades students earn will be calculated by a culmination of grades over the school year and not averaged by each quarter or term.  The only grade that is reflected and reported on a student's transcript is the final grade at the end of the course.

Terroristic Threat Letter

Every school across the state is now required to send out a form letter within the first 10 days of the start of the school year outlining the consequences of making any type of terroristic threat against a school.  Unfortunately, we live in a world where this is something that we have to be prepared for.

Click here to read the form letter.
Dress Code

Once we open in-person:  We have a minor dress code change for the upcoming school year as it pertains to shorts.  Shorts can now be mid-thigh/finger tip length instead of the previous knee length.

Click here to view the complete dress code including the change/update that you will find in red.
Lunch Account

**Once we open in-person:  A reminder that students will need to use their prior Boone County School ID badge (last year through 1st grade) to scan during breakfast and/or lunch.  If a student can't locate their prior ID badge, we will have a scanable lamentated barcode for the student to use.

Homework 101

High school means more classes to juggle--and more homework assignments to manage. Help your teen be successful in school by getting into a good homework routine and sticking with it.  The result will be better grades and strong time-management skills and organizational skills to carry throughout life.  To find more suggestions, click here.
College & Career Coach Sign-Ups

If your student would prefer to remain with their current counselor for their senior year (Dryden: A-G, Vickers: H-O, Guthrie: P-Z), please sign up here.

This request will be on a first come, first served basis, with a cap of 30 for each counselor. In the event a counselor doesn't reach the cap, we will randomly assign students to reach 30 per counselor.  The deadline to request to remain with your current counselor will be September 1st or until the cap is reached, whichever comes first.
