Hometown Holidays Continues December 7
 
Non-stop fun will be had in Arlington as Hometown Holidays continues this weekend. Here's the schedule of events:

Hot Cocoa Run, 9 a.m.
Sponsored by the  Arlington Runners Club
 
Santa Breakfast, 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Santa Breakfast Tickets are $15 and is put on by the  Arlington Education Foundation.
Located at Presidents Elementary
505 E. 3rd Street Arlington 
 
Holiday Activities at Legion Park, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Fire pit, S'mores, and Crafts with Lifeway Church. Arlington Scouts will have fire pits and s'mores available. Music groups will also be performing in the park.
 
Santa Parade at Noon
Welcome Santa Claus to town with the parade on Olympic Avenue! Join the parade with a donation for the Arlington Community Food Bank. Line-up is at 11:30 a.m. at 5th Street on Olympic Avenue. Sponsored by City of Arlington. Pre-register at City Hall or the day-of parade at the line up (Olympic Avenue between 5th Street and Division Street) at 11:15 a.m. Viewing area will be available on sidewalk from 3rd Street to Legion Park. Prize for best parade entry - sponsored by Arlington Lifeway. Gather after the parade at Legion Park for announcement, the Festive Sweater Contest, caroling and fun. Santa will be available for visits and photos (bring your camera) at the park directly after parade.

2019 Santa Run to Benefit the Arlington Community Food Bank starts December 6
 
Each year, Arlington firefighters, their families, and friends, escort Santa through Arlington neighborhoods on a decorated fire truck, gathering food and monetary donations for the Arlington Community Food Bank. Santa and his helpers will also be passing out candy canes and spreading holiday cheer.

Monday through Friday, Santa begins his run at 5:30 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, the runs begin at 5:00 p.m.

City Staff Attends Arlington High School Annual Career & College Fair
 
On Thursday, December 5, Arlington High School hosted its annual Career and College Fair for all students. A number of City employees attended the event to showcase the wide variety of career opportunities available at the City. Thank you to Lorene Robinson (Airport), Nova Heaton (Community & Economic Development), James Trefry (Administration), Stephanie Ambrose (Police), Justin Olson (Police), Jason Abrahamson (Fire), and Matt Urtz (Fire) for helping us share what we do here at the City.

The Development Services Inspector is responsible for the inspection and documentation of construction/installation of all public infrastructure, including streets, sidewalks, water, sanitary sewer and stormwater utilities, associated with private development or Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) managed by the Community and Economic Development Department.

Arlington High School Flight Presents Christmas Spectacular, December 11-14
 
Come and celebrate the season by enjoying an evening of entertainment featuring Arlington High School's award winning jazz choir, Flight! Guests of all ages will enjoy a fantastic evening of fun and music as we get into the holiday spirit.

Bloodworks Northwest Scholarship Blood Drive, December 28
 
Give the gift of life this holiday season by donating blood! The Bloodworks Northwest van will be in the City Hall Parking Lot (entrance at the corner of 2nd St and Olympic Avenue) from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Christmas Tree Recycling, January 1-4
 
As a community service event, Boy Scout Troop 29 will collect live Christmas trees in Arlington neighborhoods on Saturday, January 4, 2020.  Please place your tree near the curb in front of your home by 9:00 a.m. Trees must be free of all decorations, tinsel, flocking, and stands.
 
You can also drop off your tree beginning January 1, 2020 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Legion Park parking lot (114 N. Olympic Ave) in the designated area.
 
Donations may be placed in an envelope and attached to your tree on January 4 or send to:
