President's Message
"Your worldview is from where you stand."

When is the last time you had civil discourse with someone who has a different worldview from you? For me, it was this morning with another Impact 100 member. The conversation gave me hope in how dialogue and proximity create stronger connections.

So let's cut to the heart of engaging in civil discourse.  After The BIG Reveal, Marla* sent me an email....

The BIG Reveal
On January 24th, at a sold-out BIG Reveal event at St. Anthony Center, Impact 100 announced the news that by pooling our membership dollars together we are able to award:
$436,000
to our community this year
4 grants of $109,000 each!

This September, after our Annual Awards Celebration,
Impact 100 will have awarded over
$5 Million
since our first grant was awarded in 2002!

Who Are Our Members?
This year, Impact 100 has 500 members, with just over 100 new members joining us for the first time.  Our loyal renewing members bring over 2,651 years of Impact 100 experience to the organization.

91% of our new members were referred ; thank you for believing enough in Impact 100 to bring your friends neighbors, family, dentists, grocery clerks, etc.!

Combining this amazing foundation with an energized group of new members with fresh ideas and energy promises to bring about great results in 2019!

The Impact 100 Process Has Started
When we consider  what Impact 100 stands for and the 5 steps of our annual process,   it is amazing to think of the energy put forth by volunteers to make it happen!  That energy continues through the nonprofit Grant Recipients who execute lasting change in our community.

S
o how does it work?  This is a simple way of explaining the Impact 100 process - in 5 steps!

2014 Grant Recipient Literacy Network of Greater Cincinnati
Adult Basic Reading Program Success Story:  Sokhna Ndiaye
Each year, the Literacy Network recognizes a student who goes above and beyond to live out our mission. Sokhna Ndiaye was named our 2018 Hope Award Recipient. Sokhna was a student in our Adult Basic Reading Program, and also works with to improve her reading skills. She is a hard-working, dedicated student, a loving mother of two beautiful children and a supportive wife. Sokhna attended class on Mondays and Wednesdays and generally met with her tutor multiple times during the week. Additionally, she completed a 10-week culinary job training program with the Freestore Foodbank called Cincinnati Cooks and now is working as a chef! Sokhna continues to work hard to improve her reading skills so that she can be the best woman, mother, and wife for her family. She truly embodies our mission at the Literacy Network!
