Retired Flag Invites

We are blown away and humbled by the amount of support for our Retired Flag Program this year. We did not expect to meet, let alone surpass, the number of flags we received last year. This year, we partnered with the City of Grande Prairie and Peace Country Memorials, and will be laying 140 flags to rest.
Among the flags counted so far, we were surprised to see not only our county and province represented, but flags from across the provinces and territories including: Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec, Northwest Territories, and the Yukon. Also counted were a number of Union Jacks, a 1965 Red Ensign flag, and even a Hudson's Bay Company flag!

We would like to invite you to join us at Oliver's Funeral Home
on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:30am,
to depart as a group to the Grande Prairie Cemetery to retire the flags; transportation to and from the cemetery will be provided by
Disabled Transportation. You are also invited to meet us at the cemetery at 10:45am, as the ceremony will commence at 11:00AM.

After the ceremony, please join us back
at Oliver's for a luncheon and short program.

We would like to sincerely thank you for your support of this program. We are proud to be part of a community that recognizes and honours the Canadian Flag, and supports the brave men and women who have fought and died protecting the rights and freedoms we enjoy today.

If you would like to attend the luncheon, please RSVP
by Wednesday, February 13th by calling 780-532-2929.
