Today's Program: Safety and Security/Scams and Fraud

Our presenter today was Dr. Kim Swanson, a Crime Prevention Specialist with the Lee County Sheriff's Office. As it was close to Valentine's Day her topic  was "Scams of the Heart." The fraud line gets 10,000 calls a year. Today we learned about infected E-Cards (sent to your email), social media scams (pop up boxes, fun quizzes, etc.), sweepstakes, romance scams, arrest scams, grandparents getting scammed, pet scams. They play on your emotions and know how to manipulate you so learn to recognize red flags and report them.
Consider scheduling a presentation for your business or community where you live.  To reach Kim or learn more call 239-258-3291.  Pictured above are President Rachel and Kim Swanson.
