On Monday night, Council unanimously approved the town's operating and capital budgets for 2019.
Residents will see a 1.99 per cent increase to the town's portion of the tax bill, for an overall property tax increase of 1.53 per cent when the approved regional and expected educational tax levies are included.

The increase means that residential property taxes will increase by $11.72 per $100,000 of assessment or that the owner of a home assessed at $800,000 will pay an additional $93.75 per year or $1.80 per week.

We want to hear from you Oakville!

Pollara Strategic Insights is conducting a random telephone survey on the town's behalf to gather resident input on town programs and services. We also have an online survey available to collect your candid feedback. Have your say and tell us what you think makes Oakville livable and what we can do to make it better.
Watch for new crossovers

We're installing seven new pedestrian crossovers in town. Look for the signs and be prepared to stop for pedestrians waiting to cross the road. Drivers and cyclists must allow pedestrians to cross the full width of the road before proceeding. Learn the rules and find the complete list of locations at oakville.ca.
