Tallulah "Thank You"
A special thanks goes out to the Tallulah committee members for helping our kids create the arroyo near the office gate. The Tallulah Project
began with funding from the Arizona Commission on the Arts in 2006. Since that time, our community has rendered several murals depicting the landscapes of Arizona as they are transformed by water. The Native American meaning of Tallulah is "
running water "
. As tiles are made throughout the year at our Tallulah Workshops, they will be glazed and carefully added to the wall. We are very grateful to those families that participated in our first Tallulah Workshop in September.

Boo Fest - Family Movie Night
Your family is invited to join us Saturday, October 20th from 5pm - 7pm for a Family Movie Night featuring

Family Fun Night & Silent Auction
Save the date!! Our Annual Family Fun Night will be held Thursday, October 25th from 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm. Burgers Amore food truck will be here at 5 pm (closes at 7pm) for families that want to picnic on the playground. Each classroom will be open to visit, desserts and lemonade in the Atelier, entertainment featured by Arizona's only Singing Cowboy and over 100 items to bid on during the Silent Auction. This is our
BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and the money raised goes towards the preschool's scholarship program and continuing education for staff. There are many ways you can help make this event a success. One way is by requesting items to bid on or if you'd prefer, you can supply an item from your place of business, donate a gift card for a restaurant or donate a nice bottle of wine to be used in the wine pull. Below is a link of the letter you can use when requesting donations. Thank you for your support!

Reggio Journey Fund
Pinnacle Preschool staff have been invited to participate with a select group of educators from across the US in a Professional Development Study Tour to Reggio Emilia, Italy in May 2019. During this tour, we will participate in extensive professional development to deepen and strengthen our teaching practices which will have a direct and immediate impact on the learning of our students. Throughout the year, we will be fundraising in a variety of ways to help teachers with the cost of this incredible opportunity. The upcoming events below are appropriate for 3 - 10 year olds. Click

Ms. Hillary, the Director of Children's Ministries here at Pinnacle Presbyterian Church, extended an invitation to our classrooms to come and visit with her in the Sanctuary. Each lesson with Ms. Hillary, also known as "Little Lambs", will include a brief message, interactive game or activity, and a song to remind them of Christ's love. Thank you, Ms. Hillary for sharing this special message with our preschoolers!
Hillary Mackowski joined the staff of PPC in August, 2017 as the new acting Director of Children's Ministry. Hillary most recently served as Director of Children Ministries at Shepherd of the Desert Lutheran Church for three years and as a preschool teacher at CASY for four years. Hillary and her husband, Scott, have four children, Ellie 18, Ethan, 17, Eli 15 and Emily 14.

Health Care Policy
If your child will be absent due to illness, it is necessary that you notify us by calling the preschool office by 9am. Teachers will be notified and notices posted if deemed necessary.
Please keep your child at home if he/she has:
* Severe cold and fever, sneezing, nose drainage, and coughing.
* Temperature of over 100 degrees in the morning. The child may return to school when he or she has been fever-free for 24 hours without the use of a fever reducer such as Motrin or Tylenol.
* Eye/Nose: Mucous or pus draining from red eyes; cloudy and/or colored drainage from the nose. Any child suspected of having pink eye should be examined by a doctor. An infected child may return to school once they have been treated with antibiotics for 24 hours and show no more sign of discharge.
* Conjunctivitis: an eye infection commonly referred to as "pink-eye." The eye is generally red with some burning and yellowish discharge.
* Bronchitis: this can begin with hoarseness, cough and a slight elevation in temperature. The cough may be dry and painful, but it gradually becomes productive.
* Rashes that you cannot identify or that have not been diagnosed by a physician. Undiagnosed rashes with or without fever or other signs of illness.
Infected Sores - Sores with crusting, or yellow or green drainage, which cannot be covered by clothing or bandages.
* Sore Throat: Sore throat when fever or swollen glands are present.
* Impetigo: begins as red pimples on the skin, which eventually become small vesicle surrounded by a reddened area. When the blister breaks, the surface is raw and weeping. The lesions occur in moist areas of the body,such as: creases of the neck, groin, and under the arm.
* Diarrhea: watery or greenish bowel movements that look different and are much more frequent than normal. Two or more abnormally loose stools in the previous 24 hours.
* Vomiting: more than the usual "spitting up." Two or more episodes of vomiting in the previous 24 hours.
* If child becomes really sick without obvious symptoms. In this case, the child may look or act different. There may be an unusual paleness, tiredness, irritability, or lack of interest.
* Itching and Head Lice: Persistent itching or scratching of body or scalp. (May be a sign of infestation or severe irritation). The Preschool has a "no nit policy". A child with lice will need to be checked by school personnel prior to returning to school.
* If a doctor diagnoses an ear or throat infection, as an example, and the child is prescribed an antibiotic, the child may not be brought to the preschool until he/she has been on the medication for at least 24 hours.
Certain communicable conditions must be documented and preschool families notified, as required by State licensing. These illnesses include, but are not limited to: Strep Throat, Chicken Pox, Pink Eye and head lice. Your privacy will be respected at all times and we appreciate your open communication and cooperation.

- Momma's with a Purpose - October 19th from 9am - 10:30am in the Sanctuary, Upper Level Nursery
- Trunk or Treat - October 27th from 4:30pm - 6pm in church parking lot with concessions, music, crafts, and candy in decorated trunks to begin the evening, then we'll move indoors to enjoy the ever popular Phantom of the Organ at 7pm.

- Wednesdays at Pinnacle - A program designed for all ages from 3 to 93 years. The evening includes dinner at 5:00 pm, with an opportunity to assist in creating the meal at 4:45 pm, Christian Education classes, and mission opportunities. Membership is open to all.
