Tribute to Msgr. Demkovich

He was officially called Rev. Monsignor John J. Demkovich, but I remember that once I met him at the parish in Passaic, NJ, and he said: "Call me John." I sensed our brotherhood in the Priesthood of Jesus Christ. He was indeed totally taken up by the Lord whom he loved with a sincerely profound love. Besides being  a priest assigned to ministry in a local parish, he was deeply aware that his mission, like that of the Divine Master, is the whole world. He was the Director of the Propagation of the Faith Office of Paterson, NJ, for many years and he cherished his association with the missionaries everywhere. The love for the Lord he had in his heart was radiating from his person in words, in prayer, in caring and sharing the Gospel. Even with his musical talent he was communicating the message of Christ's love. The Xaverian Missionaries have benefitted from the brotherly relationship of Msgr. Demkovich, who encouraged and helped us to spread the Gospel in many parts of the world. We are confident that even now that the Lord has called him home, he continues to pray so that the Lord Jesus be made known and loved all over the world. We cherish his memory prayerfully with gratitude

Feast of St. Francis 2018: Who Is My Neighbor In A Climate-Threatened World?
Every October 4th, the Feast of St. Francis celebrates the saint who saw all created beings as his brother or sister. Inspired by this example, Catholic Climate Covenant produces a free educational program to help your faith community explore how it can better care for creation and the poor. This year's program, "Who Is My Neighbor In A Climate - Threatened World?" focuses on the interconnections between immigration, refugees, and climate change.   Learn more.
