Etiquette Reminder

  • Please help us to keep the back Exit door in the Strength and Conditioning Room closed, in efforts to keep the air conditioner working efficiently. 

Reminder on the following CELL-FREE ZONES

  • LOCKER ROOMS
  • CYCLE ROOM
  • STRENGTH & CONDITIONING ROOM
  • CLASSROOM

Please conduct  cell -phone conversations in other areas of the facility. if you utilize your phone for listening to music during your workout-please turn the ringer off or on vibrate. We ask that you take any calls into other areas of the facility. We are striving to create an atmosphere that all members can enjoy while they workout, un-wind and let go of the stress of the day. If your occupation requires you to be 'on call' for medical, military, police, fire or related purposes, please inform the front desk staff upon entering the club that you will have your phone with you in the fitness areas.

"Eat to Beat Alzheimer's: Delicious Recipes and 
New Research to Prevent and Slow Dementia."

She will cover the following topics on her book:
  • Latest research on brain health, nutrition and exercise 
  • The impact of brain inflammation on memory and cognition 
  • How to eat for brain inflammation 
  • Where to begin - a road map for reducing your risk of developing Alzheimer's 

 

Author: Francie Healey is a Health and Wellness expert. She has a Master's degree in Counseling and is a Certified Health Counselor and a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in private practice

on  tubes, bands, and medicine balls.

Staying Current with the Industry 



Barbara Duke, NASM Certified Trainer, ACE Certified Group Fitness Instructor, Functional Fitness Specialist, Posture and Mobility Specialist and Senior Strength and Conditioning Specialist stays current with trends to help improve stability, movement, performance, and conditioning goals for better results and less over training. 

Barbara Duke attended "Exercise for Older Adults," an 8-hour course pre-approved for continuing education credits.  The program featured four new classes redesigned for 2018 and exploring exercise protocol for senior, chronic orthopedic and health concerns.  The schedule for this ETC Inc. workshop for fitness professionals included four new programs:
Standing Tall:  Exercise and the Aging Spine
The Bionic Elder:  Training with New Knees or Hips
Functional Forever:  Exercise for Independent Living
The Defiant Senior:  Exercise to Manage Chronic Illness.

Barbara earned another Certificate as a "Senior Conditioning Specialist."

Lottery Sheets Available Today

The first indoor court  lottery  will take place Saturday, October 27th at 9AM on the racquetball  courts This block will run from Monday, November 5th through Friday, December 21st for a total of 7 weeks. As always, you must fill out a lottery sheet in order to be eligible to participate in the lottery. The primary contact on your sheet must be present at the lottery. 



Winter Court Rates

October is the start of winter tennis guidelines. Winter tennis rates for indoor courts will be in effect beginning Monday, October 1st, and will remain unchanged at $24.00 per hour. Indoor courts may be reserved up to two days prior. Cancellations for any reason the day of a reservation will be charged.
