Remember to Register for the AHFES Orientation!

- 4:45 - 5:15 Membership Fair - Networking; teachers are invited to browse the various educational offerings of our cultural institution members, and to make connections with each other
- 5:15 - 6:30 AHFES School Orientation - Review policies and procedures of the AHFES program, FOR SCHOOLS ONLY

**Please Note:
Individuals are not required to attend the AHFES Orientation for the full 3 hours. Double check the agenda:
Members should plan to arrive between 2:45 - 3:00 for their orientation and are encouraged to stay through the Membership Fair ending at 5:15
Teachers should plan to arrive around 4:45 for the Membership Fair portion of the event and will stay through their orientation ending at 6:30

Note for Key Communicators and Educators:
We require at least one teacher representative from each school to attend the AHFES Orientation.

AHFES Fall Lottery Opens on September 10th
Mark your calendars! The AHFES Fall Lottery will open on Monday, September 10th in celebration of Arts in Education week. Teachers can submit requests for field-trip experiences through Friday, September 14th. The DC Collaborative Staff will be in touch to confirm trips the following week.

In communities nationwide, Wolf Trap Teaching Artists -musicians, dancers, actors, puppeteers and more - provide customized, in-classroom professional development for early childhood teachers.
At Wolf Trap, you will be trained to develop and help teachers implement arts-
integrated lessons that engage children in active, joyful learning across curriculum including literacy and STEM.

Teacher Appreciation Night at the
National Building Museum
|
Experience Fun House and the National Building Museum after-hours with music, food, and drinks. Fun House, designed by Snarkitecture, is the latest in the Museum's imaginative Summer Block Party series of temporary structures inside its historic Great Hall.
Teachers and administrators employed at accredited K-12 schools and home school teachers are invited to teacher appreciation night in Fun House.

The DC Collaborative's Programming Committee is open to members, partners and educators. The Committee will assist the DC Collaborative team in furthering their mission of equity and access to quality arts and humanities education for all students and teachers in the DC public education system (traditional and public charter). The Programming Committee will analyze and evaluate the quality of arts and humanities education experiences, develop opportunities for mentorship and program improvement and inform the Arts and Humanities for Every Student policies and procedures.
