  • 4:45 - 5:15 Membership Fair - Networking; teachers are invited to browse the various educational offerings of our cultural institution members, and to make connections with each other
  • 5:15 - 6:30  AHFES School Orientation - Review policies and procedures of the AHFES program, FOR SCHOOLS ONLY

**Please NoteIndividuals are not required to attend the AHFES Orientation for the full 3 hours. Double check the agenda: 
Members should plan to arrive between 2:45 - 3:00 for their orientation and are encouraged to stay through the Membership Fair ending at 5:15
Teachers should plan to arrive around 4:45 for the Membership Fair portion of the event and will stay through their orientation ending at 6:30

Note for Key Communicators and Educators
We require at least one teacher representative from each school to attend the AHFES Orientation.
 
School Partnership Agreements  must be submitted prior to the 2018-2019 AHFES Fall Lottery (Week of  September 10, 2018 ). They can be submitted at the AHFES Orientation OR returned via:

AHFES Fall Lottery Opens on September 10th

Mark your calendars! The AHFES Fall Lottery will open on Monday, September 10th in celebration of Arts in Education week. Teachers can submit requests for field-trip experiences through Friday, September 14th. The DC Collaborative Staff will be in touch to confirm trips the following week.

**Reminder!  School Partnership Agreements must be submitted PRIOR to the Fall Lottery for schools to be eligible to participate.

As part of its continued professional development series for DCPS and DCPCS educators, the DC Collaborative is pleased to once again offer professional development learning opportunities for educators led by DC Collaborative members. 

DC Collaborative Social Emotional Learning through the Arts Professional Development Institute  sessions will focus on social emotional learning through the arts and highlight topics including pre senting arts and global citizenry and culture as well as presenting history in a contemporary context. Certificates for  for  6 contact hours  towards PLU credits will be provided to all registered educator attendees.

 Institute for Early Learning through the Arts

Become a Wolf Trap Teaching Artist!

In communities nationwide, Wolf Trap Teaching Artists -musicians, dancers, actors, puppeteers and more - provide customized, in-classroom professional development for early childhood teachers.

At Wolf Trap, you will be trained to develop and help teachers implement arts-
integrated lessons that engage children in active, joyful learning across curriculum including literacy and STEM.

Teacher Appreciation Night at the 
 National Building Museum

Experience Fun House and the National Building Museum after-hours with music, food, and drinks. Fun House, designed by Snarkitecture, is the latest in the Museum's imaginative Summer Block Party series of temporary structures inside its historic Great Hall.

Teachers and administrators employed at accredited K-12 schools and home school teachers are invited to teacher appreciation night in Fun House.  Learn more

Get Involved - Join our Committees!
Programming Committee

The DC Collaborative's Programming Committee is open to members, partners and educators. The Committee will assist the DC Collaborative team in furthering their mission of equity and access to quality arts and humanities education for all students and teachers in the DC public education system (traditional and public charter). The Programming Committee will analyze and evaluate the quality of arts and humanities education experiences, develop opportunities for mentorship and program improvement and inform the Arts and Humanities for Every Student policies and procedures.
Collective Impact Committee
The DC Collaborative invites you to join us in the strategic planning year of Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child DC,  Collective   Impact  work! The Collective Impact Committee,  formerly known as the Membership Committee,  will aid us advising and executing the work of the Community Arts Team, as well as assisting us in keeping our members up-to-date during the strategic planning year. We value the input from all of our members to make this process a success.
