Life & Times @ Learning Tots Academy
View from the front

Dear LTA Families,

We hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend. Last week we made quilts and hand-prints and a hallway parade as we celebrated Friendship. This week our theme will be Thanksgiving. The first Thanksgiving was in 1621 and celebrated for 3 days and there were no mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie or corn on the cob served. Imagine that!

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Spanish with Ms. Angelica
Hello LTA parents,
First of all, I want to wish you a happy Thanksgiving. Now I move on to the class. Your children are happy with what they are learning in Spanish and sign language and I am more than pleased with the results. I am so happy that all children enjoy and learn especially the smaller classes. This week's word was amigo (friend). This week we have a student who stood out by saying the numbers in Spanish once again! Thank you for letting me be part of the education of your children.

Doctor tip of the week

Can the Flu Shot Give Kids the Flu?

Many parents still believe this. A doctor explains the real reason you can get sick right after the vaccine.

This is such a doctor thing, but every year I get excited when the flu vaccine arrives. For me, it signals the start of the holiday season. And, I want everyone to get through the season without getting sick.

Parent tip of the week

Surprising Sources of Indoor Air Pollution

Air pollution may actually be worse inside your home than out. Here's what to watch for.

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs), for example, are gases released by many household products. They may cause problems like headaches, nausea, and irritated eyes and throat.

Looking ahead
