President's Message
Dear LPGA Amateur Golf Association DC Members,
Have you ever noticed when you plan things ahead it makes you feel like you're transplanted to that point in time? That's how I feel every winter as we are putting schedules and events together for the upcoming year and forget to prepare for the snow forecast.
Winter aside, I'm really excited about our upcoming events:
February 1-3 Golf Expo
February 8 Golfdom Sip and Shop
March 23 Kick-off brunch
April 6 Kick-off weekend golf event
...and how about these discounts we're getting from local golf courses - thanks Lesli!!
I also want to thank and will keep thanking all of our volunteers who put these events together and make them happen. It takes a tremendous amount of work and effort, not to mention personal time you give to this organization and our members. We want to keep doing fun and interesting events, we want to play good courses, we want to share good times, we want to be around people that enjoy it as much we do (and hopefully somewhere on the way our golf game improves). First Annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch
On January 12th, over 30 volunteers attended our Chapter's first annual Volunteer Appreciation Brunch at Paradise Springs Winery in Clifton, Virginia.
In addition to a catered lunch and a great wine selection, chapter volunteers had an opportunity to take home several items donated for door prizes. A big shout out to our vendors who donated items including Westfields Golf Club, GloveIt, Paradise Springs Winery, and Tiffany Faucette.
Our chapter events and leagues wouldn't happen without the efforts of our volunteers! Thank you to everyone who helped out in 2018!

Play for P.I.N.K. - Looking for a Leader
We have a great track record of raising funds for Breast Cancer awareness with a fun golf event. This year's event has already been scheduled for October 6th and will once again be held at Westfields.
Kim Litherland has spearheaded this event to great success the last two years. She's stepping aside this year and we're looking for a new leader. We already have a strong team of volunteers, so your main job is to corral everyone's efforts.
We're looking for someone who's seeking an opportunity to pay back and support a great cause. If you're interested, let BJ Barger (

Practice Your Precision
Now that the regular league season has ended, don't let those golf skills and new friendships get rusty. Topgolf
is like pin ball for golf. "Pin Ball"-like targets are located at specified distances and you get "points" based on accuracy at placing your balls into these target areas (hence the precision part). There are also several types of "games" that make it even more challenging. This is a great way to maintain your skills throughout the winter months and also have some winter golf fun. Bays are covered and heated with staff bringing you food and beverages. You're not required to be an LPGA Amateur member to join in so bring along friends for a fun night.

: 6:15pm - 8:30pm. I'm usually there by 5pm if you want to come early.

If you are planning to attend the LPGA Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions in Lake Buena Vista, FL on Jan 17-20 - be sure to read the following!
LPGA Amateurs members who are attending the LPGA Diamond Resorts Tournaments of Champions must follow a specific protocol to gain complimentary access to the event.
