And They're Off! Winter Break Kicks Off With Two Incredible Trips!
Our Cadets from the Class of 2020 are already having the time of their lives during their Junior Class Trip to Quebec!

Students will take a guided tour of the city, visit the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupr é , and go sledding in the Village Valcartier. There will be dancing, shopping, and even a mass (in French). Safe travels, Cadets! 
On Friday, February 15, students participating in the Francis Xavier Baccalaureate Program took off for China! They will return to the states on February 23rd.

While in China, students will immerse themselves in a culture unlike any other! They will tour Beijing (The Great Wall), Xi'an (Terracotta Soldiers), Wuxi (Grand Buddha), and Shanghai (The Jade Buddha Temple)!
St Joes Receives Innovation & Leadership Grants!
On January 31st, Foundations in Education announced 26 grant awards totaling $125,000 to benefit Catholic schools in the Diocese of Bridgeport. Now in its 2nd year, this competitive program was the first of its kind to offer innovation and leadership grants to teachers and administrators.

St Joseph High School was named as a recipient of three of those grants:

  • 21st Century “Big Tech” Pathway Course Overhaul - $13,000
  • Coding Club/Coding Class - $4,000 and
  • Innovation Through Coding & Entrepreneurship - $2,000

Foundations in Education is a non-profit initiative created to assist the Diocese of Bridgeport’s ongoing mission to support Catholic education in Fairfield County by supporting innovation in academic and extra-curricular programs, fostering opportunities for the professional development of school leaders and providing scholarship assistance to families in need.

The Sophomore Class Trip to Washington DC will take place March 9 - 11 .
 
Payments were due to Mr Pappa by February 1.
 
A mandatory Parent-Student Meeting will be held on Thursday, February 28 at
6:30 PM.

At St Joes, the college planning process begins in freshmen year to allow a gradual progression of planning and conversation between our students, their families and our counselors. It is important to stay ahead of the college planning process so students can find the college/university that is right for them.

The Office of College Counseling will be hosting a Sophomore Parent Guidance Breakfast on Wednesday, February 27 at 7:00am.
WIN EVERYDAY: Let's Go, SJ Cheer!
On February 9, the Varsity Cheer Team placed 2nd at a competition hosted by Watertown High School!

Once again, they also placed 1st in the partner stunt division.

The team heads to States on March 2nd! Go Cadets!
Audition for the Spring Musical!
Mark Your Calendars! St Joseph High School is proud to announce that our Spring Musical will be Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat! The story is based on the " coat of many colours " story of  Joseph  from the Book of Genesis .

St Joes will present the musical May 2, 3, and 4!

This is a reminder to all students that service hours must be tracked through x2VOL. This program will replace the old paper forms and create a digital platform that will stay with you throughout your four years at St Joes. All hours must be submitted by March 15, 2019. Ladies Luncheon will be held on Sunday, March 3 at Brooklawn Country Club in Fairfield. St Joes Alumni, Parents, and Friends are invited to join us at this sought-after luncheon featuring vendor shopping, silent auction and fantastic raffles.

Proceeds from Ladies Luncheon will benefit the SJ Parent Association which supports events like Catholic Schools Week and Post Prom.
