Weekend Weather Forecast

Please remember to remove your cars from the roadways this weekend so Public Works can effectively clear the streets. (City Code 60.10.10)

A storm system is expected to cross Iowa with snow beginning late Saturday afternoon over western Iowa, then quickly spreading across the region during the evening and overnight hours. Snow accumulations from Saturday evening through Sunday afternoon will reach totals of 4 to 5" on average with locally higher amounts possible. Winds are expected to remain light during the event. Despite that, travel impacts are likely to occur due to snow covered and slippery roads.

Time to Renew Your Pet License

Pet licensing for 2019 is here. All pet owners must register their animals by March 31st to avoid penalty or increased registration fees. The owners of all dogs and cats six (6) months of age or older are required by ordinance to obtain a "animal" license. A copy of your pet's current rabies certificate is required for a new or renewal license. The fee for a neutered animals is $20. The fee for a non-neutered animals is $30. Pet Licenses are available at the Windsor Heights Public Safety Building located at 1133 66th Street. The 2019 Pet License Application is available on the Windsor Heights website at
