Celebrate your School Board members!
Missouri School Board Recognition Week is Feb. 10-16
Schools made posters to honor the School Board.
Communities across the state are honoring the service of boards of education this week for School Board Recognition Week. The goal is to build awareness and understanding of the important function an elected board of education fills in communities and schools.  These public servants are elected by local constituents and do not receive compensation for their efforts.

All Missouri citizens are asked to recognize the contributions of these men and women and focus attention on the vital role they play in the education of our children.  Thanks to our Raymore-Peculiar School Board members:
School Board Recognition Week is sponsored by the Missouri School Boards' Association.

Due to the snow days on Feb. 6-8, the  District calendar  now shows the last day of  school as an early release on Wednesday, May 29.

Students will have school on these makeup days:  Feb. 19, March 25, and April 22. In addition, there will be full days of classes on May 22, 23, 24, and 28.

The District has cancelled school on 8 days due to inclement weather and/or hazardous road conditions. We are required to make up the first 7 snow days.

After that, we must make up one day for every two snow days, up to a max of 10. So, for the 8th snow day on Feb. 8, we did not need to schedule a makeup day. If we have another snow day, we'll need to add another day to the calendar.

Any additional make-up days will be added to the end of the school year.

Feb. 18-19 schedule

Schools will not be in session on Monday, Feb. 18, in observance of President's Day. School is in session on Tuesday, Feb. 20, for the 1st snow makeup day.
Week-long food drive benefits CAN program
More donation opportunities at Courtwarming games and Price Chopper
A week-long food drive to benefit the Caring About Nutrition (CAN) program will end with two additional donation opportunities:

  • You may also donate items during an in-store food drive from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at the Raymore Price Chopper store.
Caring About Nutrition serves K-5 students with bags of food on Fridays for weekend meals they might otherwise miss. CAN sends home food for two breakfasts, two lunches and two snacks.

CAN also has small food pantries at the middle schools and high school for students to access when needed. You may donate throughout the year at any Ray-Pec elementary or middle school. You can also drop donations at the Raymore Chamber of Commerce.
