President's Message - Brad Duffy

It's hard to believe that summer is coming to a close and we're headed into fall! Summer saw many successes for us. We had great presence at TALI and PPIAC, as well as the IAPI conference. Chairman Terry Myer worked the TALI conference and had great success in promoting NCISS as usual. Mark Gillespie and Wes Bearden were speakers at the IAPI conference in September, and represented NCISS tremendously. At all of these events we were able to sign up more members, which is great for our growth.   Thank you to all of our volunteers for what you do in promoting NCISS, and thank you to all of our members.

Karen Beers hit the ground running as our new Executive Director in August, replacing Carol Ward who had a long, successful tenure with NCISS. Karen has already shown that she has the knowledge, experience, and dedication to help NCISS carry forward into the future.

As fall approaches, we continue to prepare for the Mid-Term meeting in November, as well as a few other events in the coming months. The OSMOSIS conference is October 7-9 in Las Vegas and the North Carolina Association of Private Investigators Conference is just before the Superconference in New York in November.   I hope you've all registered and made your arrangements to attend the Mid-Term meeting and Superconference. There are many great speakers, including our own Steve Rambam and Mark Gillespie. It will prove to be a very informative and fun event.

The NCISS Mid-Term Meeting registration, and the Investigators Super Conference registration (each are separate) are at www.NCISS.org

Hope to see you all there!

Respectfully,
Brad Duffy
NCISS President

Member and Association News!
Region 5 - contributed by Andrea Orozco
The 2018 Annual Rocky Mountain Private Investigator Conference was certainly a huge success. Having top notch NCISS members as speakers is a testament of the talent and experienced Investigators we have within this association. My proudest moment was when over 2/3 of the attendees stood up to represent NCISS members taking part of this conference. Breckenridge, CO was a beautiful venue. The height of the color change within our beautiful mountains made for stunning photos and eye candy throughout the weekend.

Continuing education and networking in taking part of these conferences is crucial in our profession and helps make you the very best you can be when representing your clients. Support your state and national association by attending your state and national association events throughout the year.

From World Association of Detectives
Wes Bearden, NCISS 2nd Vice President, was elected to the WAD Board as a Director, at the Annual General Meeting, held in Las Vegas NV.

Dean Beers was re-appointed by new WAD President, Laura Guiliani, to continue as the Governor of the Americas (North, Central and South), a position he has held since 2012. In addition, NCISS Region 6 Director Michael Julian was re-appointed as US Ambassadors.

Multiple Regions
NCISS has multiple subject matter experts as part of its Speakers Bureau, who are available to speak at training conferences and events.

In September NCISS members, including Board members and Past Presidents, spoke in Colorado (Gene Ferraro, Brian Ingram, Francie Koehler, and Kelly Riddle), in Iowa (Wes Bearden and Mark Gillespie), and World Association of Detectives (Michael Julian, Dean Beers, and Wes Bearden). Several will be speaking at the upcoming Investigators Super Conference in New York City - Brian Ingram, Mark Gillespie, Brandon Perron, Steve Rambam, Steve Kirby, Jimmie Mesis and Fernando Fernandez.

Every month, NCISS members are contacted to speak at conferences nationwide.
