When you give $100 or more between Tuesday, November 27, and Tuesday, December 11, you will receive an 8" x 10" print of Scott Ramsey's award-winning photograph, "Diamond on the Blue Ridge Parkway." Timing was key in capturing this spectacular moment during the 2017 solar eclipse. The diamond ring effect is seen as the moon makes its final move over the sun. The photo was captured at Mile High Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

A new matching challenge for Flat Top Manor

Grants and matching funds will support repairs to the exterior of Flat Top Manor at Moses H. Cone Memorial Par near Blowing Rock, N.C.
|
The rehabilitation effort at Moses H. Cone Memorial Park is in for a big boost. Three projects focused on repairs to Flat Top Manor have been selected to receive Centennial Challenge grants awarded by Congress.
The grants total more than $720,000. To secure the match, the Foundation must raise an additional $680,000.
This is another great step forward in the Foundation's three-year goal to raise more than $3 million to address crucial repairs and maintenance for this treasured country estate listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Greater learning at Craggy Gardens
This month, we celebrated the installation of new exhibits at Craggy Gardens Visitor Center! Thank you for supporting this project that gives Blue Ridge Parkway visitors a better understanding of the animals and plants that call this high-elevation landscape their home.

A great mingling of art creators and aficionados and Blue Ridge Parkway lovers celebrated the opening night for our benefit art show, Of Valley & Ridge: A Scenic Journey Through the Blue Ridge Parkway, hosted in collaboration with The Saints of Paint at Zealandia in Asheville. We'd like to thank everyone who attended the event on Friday and visited throughout the weekend to purchase art.
The event raised more than $40,000. The Saints of Paint generously donated a portion of proceeds from art sales to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.

Bluffs Restaurant gets a new roof
Thanks to your gifts, the new roof at the former Bluffs Restaurant is complete! The facility at milepost 241 is now one step closer to reopening. In the spring and summer of 2019, grants from the N.C. General Assembly and Appalachian Regional Commission will be used to repair the interior of the building and purchase new restaurant equipment.

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation's
Kids in Parks program celebrated the opening of its 100th TRACK Trail in North Carolina alongside its partners Edgecombe County, the Town of Tarboro, and the
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation on November 1, at Indian Lake Park in Tarboro. The event included a ribbon cutting, guided hike with 25 schoolchildren, and remarks from regional and state leaders.
The Tarboro TRACK Trail is also the 177th in the nation. Thanks to nearly a decade of support from the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Foundation, Kids in Parks is approaching its goal to install a TRACK Trail in every county in the state.

Get in the holiday spirit with a seasonal celebration led by bluegrass quartet The Barefoot Movement at 7:30 p.m., Friday, November 30, at the Reeves Theater in Elkin. The group will fill the stage with lush harmonies, thoughtful instrumentation, and memorable melodies. The concert is hosted in collaboration with the Blue Ridge Music Center. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 the day of the show.
