Mass in Appreciation of Volunteers - In appreciation of the volunteers of the Diocese of Venice, Bishop Frank J. Dewane invites all those who donate their time and talent to a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 23, at Our Lady of Light Parish, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Fort Myers. The Mass is an opportunity for all of us to extend gratitude and appreciation for those who generously give of themselves to the Church.  All priests, deacons and the faithful are invited to participate in a celebration of the active and concrete stewardship of our laity. A lunch will follow the Mass in the Parish Hall. Couples Celebrating Marriage - All couples celebrating 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, or more years of marriage, are invited by Bishop Frank J. Dewane to an Anniversary Mass in their honor. The Anniversary Mass will be celebrated in two locations: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 2 at Epiphany Cathedral, 310 Sarasota Street, Venice, and 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16 at St. Leo the Great Parish, 28290 Beaumont Road, Bonita Springs. Information packages have been mailed to all Parishes.

Save the Date - The Second Annual Walk to Our Lady is Saturday, May 4, starting at 8:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, 1301 Center Road, Venice. Please join Bishop Frank J. Dewane, who along with other participants, will process while praying the rosary 6.6 miles to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Retreat Center, 3989 South Moon Drive. A May Crowning will conclude the walk, which will be followed by lunch. The event is free. Registration details will be available soon.

Intercessions for Migrant Children - "Whoever receives one child such as this in my name, receives me; and whoever receives me, receives not me but the One who sent me." (Mk 9:37).  As Our Lord Jesus protects the young and innocent so should we pray for their safety. Intercessions for the safety of the children at the border are included for use in parish bulletins. "Witnessing Faith with Bishop Dewane" - Join Most Reverend Frank J. Dewane, Bishop of the Diocese of Venice, for his monthly radio program on Relevant Radio. "Witnessing Faith with Bishop Dewane" can be heard at 8:30 a.m., Friday, February 22 and then on Friday, March 29 on 1660 AM in Naples as well as 1410 AM and 106.7 FM in Fort Myers. Rite of Election - On the first Sunday of Lent, March 10, at 2:30 p.m., the Rite of Election will be celebrated by Bishop Frank J. Dewane for the entire Diocese at Epiphany Cathedral.  RCIA adults who have been preparing in their parishes will be sent to the Rite of Election. There will be no mailing this year. For questions about seating or the Cathedral, please contact the Rite of Election Coordinator at 941-485-2325. Safe Environment Training - As part of the Safe Environment Program, the Diocese of Venice requires that all employees and those volunteers who work with children and/or vulnerable adults be fingerprinted and trained in Safe Environment. Catholic Days at the Capitol - The registration deadline for the three day trip to Tallahassee from March 26 to March 28 is Tuesday, February 26. Join others from around the state in making a difference while visiting our state legislators. Activities include:

40 Days for Life - Join other Christians from March 6 through April 14, for the Spring 40 Days for Life campaign. This campaign encompasses 40 days of prayer and fasting for an end to abortion. Stand and peacefully pray during vigils in the public right-of-way outside Planned Parenthood in Naples, Fort Myers or Sarasota or the abortion facility in Port Charlotte. Annual Conference - The Diocese of Venice English Catholic Charismatic Renewal will hold its Annual Conference from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Saturday, March 30 at Epiphany Cathedral Parish Center, 310 Sarasota Street, Venice. Free Homebuyers Education Workshop - Catholic Charities, Diocese of Venice, Inc. offers one day free Home Buyer Education Workshops in English from 8:00 a.m. until 5:45 p.m. on Saturday, March 16, or a two day workshop from 4:30 to 9:00 p.m., on Monday, March 25, and Tuesday, March 26 at the Catholic Charities office located at 1219 16th St. W. in Bradenton. Mark your Calendar - The Sugar Bowl Show of Shows Sarasota-Bradenton will feature the Atlantic City Boys at 7:00 p.m. Friday, April 5 at the Neel Performing Arts Center at State College of Florida in Bradenton. Calling All Young Adults - The Diocese of Venice offers many opportunities for young adults to build community.
