Hot Springs Village continues to keep our members informed on the latest information about COVID-19 locally and in the state of Arkansas. Currently, we are continuing to follow Phase 2 Directives from the Arkansas Department of Health.

State of Arkansas  
       
Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that 652 more cases of COVID-19 were reported to the state today. 
 
Today's positive tests bring the number of cumulative cases in the state to 51,766. Of those cases, 6,582 are considered active with 71 in nursing homes, 735 in correctional facilities and 5,776 in the community.
 
When it came to today's cases, there were 13 cases in correctional facilities and 639 in the community. 
  
Hospitalizations decreased by 13 since yesterday, bringing the total currently hospitalized to 473. Of those hospitalized, 112 are on ventilators.  
 
There have been nine more reported deaths due to COVID-19. The death total for Arkansas is now 582.   
 
Hutchinson also announced the Arkansas Ready to Learn Healthy School Guide. The guide offers information to help educators and families prepare to return to school. You can read the guide here

As of Aug. 13 at 2:30 p.m., the United States deaths attributed to COVID-19 are 165,148.

Saline & Garland Counties 
 As of 2:30 p.m. Thursday, 1,158 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Saline County. Of those, 924 have recovered and 226 of the total cases are considered active. The number of deaths in Saline County has increased to eight.
 
Garland County currently has 1,134 cumulative cases of COVID-19. So far, 873 people are considered recovered and 244 cases are considered active. The total number of deaths is 17.
