FEBRUARY 2019
It was great to see the  participation of so many players in the major events - the Ace Super Series Junior along with the Ace Open - which we hosted during the Christmas " Break " at the Cedar Springs Club in Burlington. There have also been some recent stellar international junior  performances by Ace Burlington's Vicky Mboko and Oleksandra Gorchanyuk which followed Alex Mikhailuk's Veneto Open win (see below).  All our winter session programs are in full gear at Cedar Springs as well as Toronto Tennis City; and in our on-going efforts to improve our coaches and our product, ACE is  refining the ACE Development System;  spearheaded by Pierre Lamarche and under the
guidance of Andy Sutton and Brandon Alguire [see below] both Tennis Canada Course Facilitators. Ace coaches are certified by Tennis Canada, and highly qualified; serving regularly as Team Ontario coaches and as Course Facilitators in Tennis Canada's Coaches Education program. Recently coach Natalie Araya of TTC has been a coach in the U10 OTA Girls Regroupings and at the U10 Girls & Boys Provincial Training Centre (PTC) camps.

We will be hosting camps at both locations during March Break for players of various levels and ages (see below). Players wishing to participate should register quickly to ensure a place in these camps. Soon, we will also let you know about our exciting programs and camps for the Spring and Summer.

We hope you all have a great year on the courts.

ACE DEVELOPMENT SYSTEM
ACE is refining its development system, see comments from Andy Sutton, ACE Systems Consultant / Tennis Professional Toronto Tennis City...and stay tuned for more...

'I am very happy to have joined the group at ACE.  It is wonderful to have been able to join such a strong team of talented and committed coaches.  My involvement is primarily with Toronto Tennis City, but will still help with all operations at ACE.  My job is to help harmonize programming in Burlington and Toronto by ensuring that the high performance academies are maintaining consistency across their offerings. This includes collaborating in the development of the specific curricula for the high performance programs. I will also use my expertise as a course facilitator to run training for the coaches in Toronto to help them more effectively manage programs from Mini tennis right up to the National group.
Andy Sutton

We are eager to be the best at what we do and are constantly striving to reach that goal.'

Studying in the United States and playing for a university is a dream for many.
If you are a young player and dream of getting a scholarship in the US, you need to prepare thoroughly for the entrance exam - the SAT. The more you prepare, the better your score, the more chances you will have for both scholarships and better universities. Helen Donohoe, M.S.Ed., is a teacher of English and French in the Hamilton/Burlington area. She holds practice SAT sessions on Saturdays for ACE players on an informal, drop-in basis at the Cedar Springs Club in Burlington where she is a member, long-time tennis hacker and aficionado.
