HUGE THANKS for Interfaith Shelter
|
“…I was a stranger and you invited me in…” MT 25:35-36
Heartfelt thanks are due to ALL members of our three communities — Good Samaritan Episcopal, Newman UCSD Catholic Community, and Congregation Beth Israel — for coming together, once again, with time, talent, treasure…and prayers…to serve our homeless brothers and sisters during this year's Interfaith Shelter. Before, during, and after our two-week rotation, over 100 volunteers stepped up to provide all that was needed: food, shelter, care and comfort for the 13 guests who spent time in our “home.” It does take a village. And this is what being in community looks like…a truly Interfaith community.

“The human body includes right from the beginning...the capacity of expressing love, that love in which the person becomes a gift -and by means of this gift - fulfills the meaning of his being and existence.” - St. John Paul II
