I Love Libraries Month

We know in Minnesota there is a LOT of love for libraries. Last year, state wide, libraries has 23.3 million visitors, 3 million MORE than Walt Disney World! Here at East Central Regional Library, you show us everyday how much you love the library when you attend a program, check out materials, stop by to use our computers or just stop for a visit.

Another way you can show your love and support is to contact your legislators and let them know you believe in the value of libraries and you support library funding. Operations at East Central Regional Library are primarily funded with state and county funds through partnerships with the cities/counties that own the library buildings.

On February 26, along with library advocates throughout the state, a delegation of East Central Regional Library staff, Board members and citizens like you will travel to the state capitol to talk with legislators about libraries and library funding.   While we'd love it if all 95,149 of our card members showed up as well, we know that's not possible.

How can you help? Consider participating in virtual library legislative week, February 25 - March 1. Contact your legislators by phone, email or social media using the hashtag #MnLibLeg19.  No one can tell your story like you so show your library love with a story or photo and share what East Central Regional Library means to you.  Not sure who your representatives are?  Use the state's "Who represents me?" page to find out!

We are here for you East Central Minnesota!  Thanks for the love!
You still have until March 5th to submit entries!! You can do so at your local branch or online. So far we've had 147 online entries!
