On Broadway, Julie Harris played the good hearted and guileless child of nature who is hauled before the magistrate on a charge of murder, having been found unconscious, nude, and clutching a gun, with her lover dead beside her. What is most shocking to the magistrate is the complete frankness with which she describes her life. She is so ingenious that the magistrate, at the risk of his juridical neck, decides that she could not have committed the murder. The magistrate finds the right culprit and the open hearted little parlor maid offers herself to him as a present. Cost.

The Visual Arts Center will host a Virtual Open House on Facebook Live Sept. 9 to 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with live broadcasts featuring Instructors. Visit the VAC website for a detailed schedule.
Open studios begin Sept. 14. Pottery, jewelry, glass, 2D art studios for up to eight participants to work independently with an instructor. Cost.

The 20th annual festival will be held online Sept. 25 to 27.
The interactive, online celebration of “American Ingenuity” will feature new books by more than 120 of the nation’s most-renowned writers, poets and artists. Virtual stages will offer on-demand videos, live author chats and discussions, options to personalize your own journey through the festival with particular themes, and book buying possibilities through the festival’s official bookseller, Politics & Prose, with a limited number of commemorative book plates signed by authors.

Principal Percussionist Dean Anderson will perform Paul Creston's Concertino for Marimba in the 2021-2022 season! Until then, please enjoy these short snippets and get inspired for the future.

These programs are open to anyone with a desire to paint outside. They are held on Monday at 8:30 a.m. There are no fees and no instruction. For those who wish, at 11:15 a.m. paintings are shared and discussed. This group meets at different locations.

After long deliberation and in light of the best advice regarding the pandemic from all avenues of information, the Board of Trustees has decided it is in the best interest of our patrons, staff, and volunteers to delay our opening until January 2021.

The non-profit organization, dedicated to preserving and promoting jazz music, has cancelled their events and will reschedule their 30th anniversary dinner celebration from Oct. 24 to either March or October 2021. The directors have passed a resolution that all current members of CCJS will automatically have their memberships extended for one year from the time jazz society performances can safely resume.

Some member organizations cancelled their events and hours of operation for the season and others are now re-opening.
