An Important Reminder About Students Who Request Accommodations

As a reminder from Student Disability and Academic Support Coordinator, Tina Underwood:
  • If a student asks for an accommodation, please ask them to provide a copy of their ADA plan to you.

  • If a student asks you for an accommodation but they do not have a plan that they can provide, PLEASE do not grant accommodations. Instead, refer the student to the SDS Office, fill out the SDS Referral Form and send it to Tina so she can reach out to the student to get them started on a plan.
It's essential that we do not grant accommodations to students who do not have a plan in place, as it sets a precedent that can be frustrating to both the student and the administration.
More information, including an ADA PowerPoint for faculty, can be found at  https://faculty.granite.edu/student-resources.
If you have any questions, please contact Tina at 603.513.1140.
As always, thank you for your dedication to our students and here's to a great week ahead!
