Our Executive Director attended the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) national conference in Charlottetown, PEI, at the end of October. Our role was to increase awareness about Myeloma Canada and our various programs we offer to patients. Cancer nurses play a pivotal role with patients and caregivers and are rarely given the spotlight they deserve.

“Being at CANO reminded me of what our oncology nurses do every day for patients. I had the privilege to meet Nanette Cox-Kennett from Edmonton. Nanette was the first nurse to win the Marion State Memorial Myeloma Canada Nursing Award a few years ago.” Martine Elias, Executive Director
