General Election Overview

Dear WH&LA Lodging and CVB/Chamber Members:
We are fortunate to retain the legislative expertise of our Contract Lobbyist Kathi Kilgore, from Standby/Kilgore Associates in Madison, who assists WH&LA with our Government Affairs work each year. Kathi has taken the time to draft an Overview of the Elections results for Wisconsin, which was updated this morning to include some races that were still too close to call the day after the polls closed. While a few still remain within a potential recount margin, the vast majority have been settled. Also included are the results of the Senate leadership elections from Friday, with Assembly leadership elections to occur yet this week.
The WH&LA will be busy initiating connections with newly elected legislators and and continuing to develop our existing connections as the new biennial session will begin in January, with decidedly different dynamics that will require new strategies.
