Meeting the needs of students to change their future
Leading The Learning
As leaders we never know when a teachable moment will occur. To that end, we need to be purposeful in building skills for engaging learners in the educational process. Students should know in advance what is expected of them, where they stand in relation to the performance level expected, and what they can do to improve. It is important as Educators to check for understanding throughout lessons by asking questions students can answer only if they truly understand concepts and/or the process.
In a recent industry post, I read a comment on the use of videos as a teaching tool. The overall concept was that while technology of any kind is a great tool, they will never replace a dedicated and engaged Educator. Understand your own importance and embrace that challenge. A professional does everything on purpose and this is most notable by constantly updating your skills throughout your career.
Don’t let the fear of change, innovations and opportunities stop you from being curious. Create a thriving learning environment that advances students’ achievements and lead the learning process.
I look forward to working with schools and answering any questions on the National Esthetician Certification program.
