The recent storms have been good news for our water supply: On February 7, MMWD’s seven reservoirs reached 100% of capacity, and they have remained full since then. On average, our reservoirs are about 86% full at this time of year.
We're also having a wetter-than-average rainfall year: From July 1 through February 14, we measured 44.61 inches of rain at Lake Lagunitas, compared to an average of 35.01 inches. That's more than twice as much rain as we'd received last year at this time.
Find current reservoir and rainfall totals on our website.
Though we’re always happy to see the reservoirs fill, we still ask our customers to use water wisely. Even at capacity, our reservoirs hold only about a two-year supply of water, and the next dry year could be right around the corner.
