IISE recognizes 2018 professional chapter newsletters

A chapter newsletter is a report of information and ideas that is distributed on a regular basis to chapter members.  A good newsletter uses eye-catching graphics, provides up-to-date information, and includes content that is entertaining.  A good newsletter keeps members informed on what is going on in the chapter. A good newsletter educates members about issues and ideas that concern chapter members. A good newsletter builds cohesion and a sense of pride among chapter members.

The chapter newsletter is the cornerstone of chapter communications with chapter members. C reating a good newsletter takes a lot of time and effort.

IISE is proud to recognize these exceptional professional chapter newsletters and the hard work of the editors.

Is that a fact?  The wingspan of a Boeing 747 is longer than the Wright brothers' first flight.
Aviation Technical Services Tour - Greater Kansas City chapter

On September 27, 2018 a group of members and guests of Greater Kansas City professional chapter were able to tour the impressive ATS (Aviation Technical Services) facility at the Kansas City International Airport (MCI).

The facility was originally constructed by TWA in its prime
.
The 607,000 sq. ft. facility was designed, at the time, to handle supersonic  jets that were in development. However, TWA did not fly any  commercial supersonic jet flights. The Concorde supersonic jet was the only aircraft to offer commercial flights in the U.S., and it flew from 1976 to 2003 with most routes being trans-Atlantic between New York and London or Paris. Therefore, this facility saw other large aircraft such as the Boeing 747.

Now, the facility services all types of aircraft including the most popular and most prevalent aircraft in the world, the Boeing 737.  There are approximately 4,500 737s in service around the world with an average 1,200 being airborne at any given time.
