The California Department of Education announced that Cook Elementary School was named a 2018 National Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) Distinguished School. Cook Elementary is one of only two schools in the State of California and 100 nationwide to receive this prestigious recognition.
This is the second national honor Cook Elementary School has received in the last two years. The school was named a 2016 National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. Since then, Cook has continued with its school-wide approach to promoting growth mindset, scholarly habits, perseverance, and other skills that lead to academic success. Lobos Capture Water Polo Wins
|
The Los Amigos JV and Varsity Water Polo teams both captured league titles this season! It was the 23rd overall league championship for the Lobo varsity team and it qualified them for the CIF-SS Division 6 playoffs. After a well earned bye in round one, the Lobos defeated the Downey Vikings 13-7 to advance to the quarter finals where they unfortunately lost to Culver City High School. It was still an amazing success for the Lobo water polo program as they once again ruled the pool!
