Dear St. Alphonsus Families,
I have some good news to share; we do not have to make up any of our snow/cold days! The Archdiocese is allowing all Catholic schools to only need 175 direct instruction days for this school year, instead of 180. We are at 175 now—as long as we do not have another day off due to weather, we will be in good shape! If we do, we can only take away our half day of school in March or we have to add a day of school at the end of the school year.
Just a reminder if you are walking your child in during morning drop off, please walk on the sidewalk or as close to the fence as possible. This is for the safety of the walkers and the cars exiting our school grounds.
Thank you to everyone who donated for our service project; Hearts for Haiti. We raised $627.85.
Please come to our Open House on February 12 from 5-7 pm. This is also the time to enroll your child(ren) for the 2019-2020 school year. We will have fun games in the gym, you can take a tour of the school, talk to the teachers, and purchase a hot dog dinner from our LIV team fundraiser. We are also continuing our Catholic Schools Week activities that were missed due to the snow/cold days.

Finally, I have added the Remind 101 text system to my phone. The attachment below has the instructions to add Remind to your phone. This one-way texting app will allow me to send you info such as school closings, indoor pick-up, and reminders. The texting app will not be used for emergency reasons and you can opt out at any time. It is also limited in amount of information (characters) I can use, so the texts will be short and sweet! I have the Remind 101 set to say “St. Al School”.
Stay warm!
Mrs. Stallmann
