Happy Valentine's Day!

Dear Friends of Saint John's:

Love is in the air!  One of our seven core values at Saint John's is love. Here at Saint John's, love represents unconditional acceptance within our community of truth and accountability.

While many of our clients face a number of hurdles to overcome, in the words of Maya Angelou: "Love recognizes no barriers."  With love in our hearts, anything is possible.

We send our love to you all, and we are deeply grateful for your continued support of our women and children at Saint John's.

On behalf of all of us here at Saint John's, Happy Valentine's Day!

With much love and gratitude,

Michele Steeb
CEO, Saint John's Program for Real Change

Will You Be Mine???
Our kids had a blast making Valentines for our donors this month with volunteers from Saint Francis High School! They needed very little prompting - when asked what they wanted to say, they responded in unison: "Thank You!" Some were more specific:

"Thank you for the food!"
"Thank you for the coat, and everything!"
"Thank you for your 'kindnis!'"

We couldn't have said it better! Here's wishing you all a wonderful Valentine's Day spent with those you love most!

Seasons of Love: A Meal-With-A-Meaning

170+ guests feasted on fabulous fare at our first Guest Chef Dinner of 2019! Held at Plates Cafe on February 7, this was truly a "meal-with-a-meaning," as it was lovingly prepared and served by six of our own alumnae, all of whom have gone on to successful, self-sustaining careers in the restaurant business !

Kaiser "Day On" not a "Day Off"
Kudos to Kaiser Permanente Thrive, HandsOn Sacramento and AmeriCorps NCCC for turning out more than 100 volunteers to beautify Saint John's campus on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 21. Read More about Kaiser's "Big Day On"...
Unstoppable Maria

Maria walks into Saint John's in scrubs fresh off a break from her job at UC Davis Medical Center. She has a bright, infectious smile and truly seems to be the happiest person in the world which is simply amazing as she was homeless before finding Saint John's Program for Real Change.

Congratulations to January's Employee of the Month:
Sharea Thomas!

"Sharea is everything you want and need in a counselor: compassionate, understanding, and always holding clients accountable.," observes CCTRP Director Scot Sorensen.

Jobs, Jobs, Jobs!

Congratulations to Kasey, our awesome, capable, confident, skilled, self-sustaining lady!

Kasey H., has recently joined Sacramento's workforce. She is employed as a donor outreach coordinator with our Employment Partner, BloodSource, now operating as Vitalant. We are so very proud of all you have accomplished!
