Stewardship Season
Stewardship season is here! Join us for services during October to hear about what St. Bernard's means to many of our parishioners. Pledge certificates can be found in the Narthex and placed in the offering plate or
mailed to the parish office.
|
On Sunday, October 7 St. Bernard's parishioners celebrated the Feast of St. Francis which included a blessing of the animals (real and stuffed!). The animals were even invited to coffee hour afterwards where animal snacks were provided!

Winter Clothing Drive for
Grace's Kitchen
Once we are moved into the new Parish House we'll be able to start collecting warm winter clothes for our friends at Grace's Kitchen. If you would like to help get the word out speak to Pastor Beth.

God's Giving Garden

We made it to over 1500 lbs!
1511 lbs harvested so far this season!
Come and join us for our upcoming work sessions:

Friday, 10/19 - 9-10:30 am
Please come and help if you can. There is always plenty to do!

Copies are available to take in the Narthex of the church.

October Book Group
Tuesdays, 6-7 pm
Next meeting - October 16
Join us in reading Lauren Winner's book, Wearing God: Clothing, Laughter, Fire, and Other Overlooked Ways of Meeting God. You can purchase the book online, in paperback, or electronic format. We meet from 6-7 pm on Tuesdays in October in the church. Our next meeting is on October 16. All are welcome.

JOY! Service
October 21, 9am
Families with young children (infants and up) are welcome to join us for our monthly JOY! service, on the 3rd Sunday of the month at
9 am.
The next service will be on October 21.
This 25 minute service welcomes children into our liturgical tradition in informal, participatory, and fun ways. Please contact Pastor Beth with questions or to help.

Guest Preacher, November 4
All Saints' Day
On Sunday, Nov. 4, we will welcome as our guest celebrant and preacher the Rev. Sara Lilja, Director of the Lutheran Episcopal Advocacy Ministry of NJ (

).
Pastor Sara Lilja inspires us to live lives of faith in action, as we embrace God's justice at the heart of our Gospel. All are welcome!

Parish Office Hours
Due to the construction work our Parish Administrator occasionally works from home. Voicemail is checked daily. We are nearing completion and are looking forward to moving into our new offices soon!
Pastor Beth's Office Hours
Pastor's Beth is in the office each week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Monday is her day off. On Fridays she works from home.

AA Update:
Alcoholics Anonymous meets on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm and Saturday evenings at 6 pm in the church, while construction is going on.
