  Issue #10                                           SCPS Newsletter                                       April 27, 2018
From SCPS Superintendent - Dr. Walt Griffin
Dear SCPS Families,
Walt Griffin, Ed.D
Superintendent
We have listened to our employees and students and we have heard them loud and clear.  It is important for you to understand our school safety efforts and to learn what we are doing to further increase security on our campuses.  We have created the accompanying video (Part 1) to inform employees and students about our nonnegotiable security measures and our safety. A very important component of our safety plan includes these three nonnegotiables:

  • All SCPS employees are to wear picture name badge at all times
  • All doors and gates are to remain locked at all times
  • Mandatory code red drills will be conducted throughout the school year

To learn more about our school safety plan from myself and Captain Rick Francis, our School Safety and Security Director with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office, watch the school safety video at youtu.be/awjXGju7wFs.
